I live in a magical world where my forest is surrounded by skyscrapers, hot dog venders and the unfortunate zombie-like creatures called tourists. Where I reside bullets are confused with fireworks and at night what comes out aren’t vampires but hookers. I’m a redheaded Puerto Rican with an overactive imagination.

I have a cupcake named muffin. A purple rocketship for my stars, a ginger eating an octopus and two bipolar clouds that scowl as much as my skull and crossbones. I ♥ vampires, werewolves, zombies, dinosaurs, the fae, robots, social networks, museums, photographs, music, hello kitty, my iPhone 4S named Bones, and my Nook Color named Zsadist.

I took Toshiya to the vet on Thursday. It was time for his annual check up and time for his shots. Because it was a bit cold that day Destinie took us to Brooklyn in her jeep. Poor baby was scared. He realized he wasn’t going to Grandma and Grandpa’s house so he thought the worse… and he was right, lol. When we got to Brooklyn and I took Toshiya out on his Pussy Wagon I immediately got the “o_O you got a cat in a stroller” look, as usual, lol. He’s awesome in his PW.
Everyone at the vet just loved it. Kept complimenting on how cute he was and how awesome his PW was. When we got in the room the vet and nutritionist kept referring to Destinie and I like we were a lesbian couple, lmao. It was hilarious since we didn’t correct them. No point since we were acting like he was our child. Toshiya was strutting it and loving the attention he was getting right until he got the second shot. He hissed like a beast and attacked the nutritionist. Immediately after he got all drowsy and upset so I got him in his PW while we spoke to the nutritionist about food.
Let me tell you… she scared the living shit out of me. I really should have looked into the ingredients of the food I was feeding Toshiya since I had no idea what “meat byproducts” or “digest” meant. Until now. Meat byproducts basically means that they used any and all meat regardless of the body part or if the animal was dead or not. Meaning if an animal just happened to die before it was time to make them into food, they were used. Digest scares me more though. Digest… they remove the intestines and squeeze the contents out of the intestines. That’s what digest is. Let’s just say Toshiya is not being fed that shit anymore. I’ve spent close to $10,000 now on Toshiya. I might as well pay the extra money for organic or at least healthier choices when it comes to his food. He already has special litter since his surgery a few years ago.
I was scared because he had a fever when we got home after the vet and he had it until last night. Thankfully he’s more himself this morning.
The other night I was talking about deal breakers with a friend. When people refer to Toshiya as “just an animal” or “just a pet”… that’s a deal breaker for me. He’s my baby. I don’t consider myself a cat lady because I only have had one cat, but when people judge me for caring for my baby the way I do. It pisses me off. I treat animals better than I treat humans. Mainly because they’re better than humans.
